This place does it right. I wish I lived closer but every time I head down route 61 toward Philly I stop here for the pulled pork or brisket. Easily the best brisket I have had, and the best pulled pork I have had north of the mason Dixon. Have not tried the ribs yet. If you are passing by and see the pig and the smoker out front, stop in. It will be the best decision you make that day.

I was severely disappointed in this restaurant. The actual restaurant needs a full overhaul and cleaning. I hate to see flies when you walk into anywhere. The service was nice but simple things like onions and horseradish as sides seemed to be a new concept. We tried almost everything and nothing blew us away. The chicken was a boneless chicken breast which I've never seen at a real BBQ joint and the brisket was too fatty and greasy. Most of the sides appeared to not be homemade especially the macaroni salad. The quality for the price we paid was not in line and really surprised by the good reviews.

This place is some amazing BBQ! We tried about everything on the menu and it's full of belly stuffin deliciousness. Staff is super nice and food is ready in seconds. I recommend following their Facebook page to watch for tons of delicious off menu specials. I will definitely be back.

The atmosphere is nothing special with picnic tables as seating. Service as expected. Food is delicious and fresh. The sides are nothing special, but I'm not going to a BBQ joint for the sides. A great place to go for a fast, delicious lunch.

Delicious!! If you like BBQ.... And you find yourself on route 61 in Deer Lake look for the pink pig and try It's just Barbecue! You can eat in or take out. Great ribs, chicken, pork, and brisket. Try the BBQ sauce with horseradish in it. Potato salad, baked beans, and Cole slaw are some of my favorite side's. They also have applesauce, and cinnamon apples. Helpful and friendly staff!!!

Worst wings I ever had. Meats were decent. Skip it for something better or eat if you must.

after seeing all these positive reviews on yelp and on facebook i was pretty let down by this place. i was in the area and looked up BBQ places online and this was all i found, and from what i read this place seemed pretty legit. i looked at the menu and the descriptions of the meats were exactly what i look for in BBQ but the food i was served did not follow through at all. my friends and i arrive late afternoon and see a few smokers out front, one of which i saw smoke coming out of, which was a good sign. we get inside and order and there are a ton of flies around the food station. but seeing as how i'm very passionate about BBQ that wasn't enough to turn me off. the girl serving our food seemed to be in her 20's and she was very friendly and made conversation with us while she prepped our food, so the service here was pretty good. i only saw 2 other people working and they both seemed younger so i don't think the owner was on site while we were here. i ordered the sampler platter which includes smoked chicken breast, pulled pork, brisket, 2 ribs, and 2 sides. i also got a piece of cornbread. the cornbread was pretty good. nothing amazing. kind of generic actually, but still good. the baked beans were also generic. i feel like it was just a canned product with some pulled pork added. they were decent but nothing unique. i got the baked mac n cheese as my other side and that did seem homemade, but there wasn't much flavor to it and it wasn't creamy at all. now onto the meat. there's 2 ways to tell if meat has been smoked. #1 is the flavor. #2, there's a pink ring towards the edges of the outside of the meat. the meat i was served had none of those. well, actually the ribs did have some pink to them, but there was barely any meat on the bones and even though the pink was there the flavor wasn't, and neither was the texture because they were pretty dry. the pulled pork just looked overdone, the meat was dark brown and it had no flavor to it. same with the brisket. also, this place looses a lot of points for having chopped brisket instead of sliced. as for the chicken, i was pretty weary when i saw that they served boneless skinless chicken breast. boneless skinless is a recipe for dry chicken. oddly enough, it wasn't dried out, but it wasn't extremely moist either. and again it lacked flavor. there was absolutely no sign that this chicken was smoked, or even seasoned. nothing that i was served seemed fresh at all. as for the sauces, the tables had a house sauce and then there were a few other flavors available behind the counter. i got sides of the hot and the sweet and hot. i feel like the specialty ones were just an afterthought with not much effort put into them. the regular sauce was unique, i'll give them credit for that, but it was just ok, nothing mindblowing. the other sauces just seemed like doctored versions of the regular sauce. even though they had the word "hot" in the title, i felt no kick to them at all. i will say though that the portions were pretty good, the meal will definitely fill you up. i usually like to visit a place twice before i review it, but that really only applies when i review places close to me. since this was over 2 hours away i feel like a first experience is enough. i couldn't try everything on the menu i wanted to, but maybe in the end that's a good thing. friendly service is a plus but lackluster food is a huge minus. oh well, at least the flies liked it. as my friends and i were leaving i saw no smoke coming out of the smokers we saw when we got there, which probably explains why there was very little smoke flavor to the food, whoever they had as a pitmaster was inattentive. i had high hopes for this place that simply weren't met in the least. if i'm ever in this area again i probably wouldn't give this place a 2nd chance.

I was driving down 61 when I saw it, a smoker running by a little place called simply "It's Just Barbeque". I turned my car around and drove right back to give it a try. The friendly owner gave me some suggestions, and I ordered entirely too much food, intending to sample it and waste the extra. It was sufficiently delicious that there was no waste at all. Yum! The inside of this place is perfect for barbeque. It's clean, with picnic-style tables to eat at, and a nice flat screen TV to watch, should you be dining alone. Their brisket won awards, and after a few bites, it's clear it deserved them. Delicious.

If I'm ever in this part of town again, I will have to stop here for lunch again. I had an awesome brisket sandwich with cinnamon apples. The service was very friendly and I couldn't stop thinking about my sandwich for the next hour!

Just went there again after being gone for a while and had the baby back ribs with a side of beans and apple sauce. Again the hot sauce was great with just enough kick. The beans are a love hate thing with me. They have a bunch of pulled pork in them which is good, but after eating all the meat it can be a bit much and you wish just for some plain beans with some kick. Otherwise nothing to complain about, love this little gem.

I tried the Pulled Pork Platter with bun. The pork meat is excellent. The baked bean side with some pork meat inside also very delicious. The price is cheap too. Beside, the service is extremely friendly. Once I finished the pulled pork platter, I want to bring their rid home, but it is already sold out. At the time, they just open for 15 minutes only. A guy came in after me, bought all their ribs. Need an hour for the second batch to be ready, too bad can't try the ribs.

This is the real thing. Everything made right there using smokers. I am so happy we have something like this in the county. Lets all support it so it stays for years to come. Try the chili also....very close to the southwestern chili I grew up with in Arizona. Now I.m hungry and need to make a trip!!!!!!

I absolutely LOVE the smoked wings! I'm not the biggest wing fan, but smoked, they are so good. They're big and meaty, too. I've also had the brisket, which is also fabulous. It came with side dishes, that I don't remember except that they were out of mac and cheese.

I stopped by on my way to Pottsville because the pink pig smoker caught my eye. The food is fantastic and the staff was very friendly.

It's Just Barbecue, aka The Pink Pig, is one of the only BBQ joints around the Schuylkill/Berks area. Thankfully, the food and service are good. The restaurant itself isn't much to speak of, and it's hard to see and get to, especially with the road construction going on now, but the food stands out. I've had the brisket, pork, baked beans (which also has pork in it), cinnamon apples, and their delicious fresh cornbread. It's all very satisfying and savory (particularly the corn bread!). They have several different kinds of home-made sauces, which are the thicker, sweeter, syrupy variety. They're good, but if you want a rub or a Carolina-style vinegar based sauce, you won't be as pleased. In any case, they have the bottles on the tables, so you can put on as much or as little as you like. If I can level a complaint at the Pink Pig, it's that they often seem to be running out of food. Almost every time I've gone there, they've run out of something: the first time it was baked potatoes, the next it was the cornbread, and today they were out of brisket. I know that happens, especially with freshly made food, but it's annoying, especially when they're out of one of their staple meats. It's not the best BBQ joint I've ever eaten at by any means, and some of their sides are obviously pre-made, but it is a welcome respite from the culinary drudgery of Schuylkill County. I have never regretted eating there.

For our Anniversary Cook-Out this year we thought we would add some of their menu items. We had Pulled Pork, Brisket, Baked Beans, Potatoe Salad,Cole Slaw and an assortment of Sauces. Everything was just great. I didn't hear a bad comment from any of the 60 people who attended. In fact it was soooooo good we are reordering this week for our Labor Day Weekend Celebration! The employees are so nice and helpful. They even let you sample before you buy for your parties. I highly recommend them to help with your next function.

Stumbled across this place completely by accident, but how can you not get sucked in by a BBQ joint with pink pig smoker out front. Needless to say, they absolutely blew me away! The brisket was one of the best I have had in the north, and the spicy BBQ sauce was a perfect match. I think we ended up ordering almost everything on the menu, all I can say, is make a point of going out of your way to find this joint and bask in their BBQ glory. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Yummy food. Get there early, as they sometimes run out of ribs. The brisket is a good standby. Smoked wings are also a fav. We love pretty much everything we get lol The buffalo sauce is also amazing!

Was there last two Saturday's ago. Ordered the prime rib and a pulled pork sandwich. The rib had some smoke flavor around the edges, but most of the rest was just normal rib. This is something that sounds awesome, but due to the thickness and having to be rare in the center, it's just not a good piece of meat for the smoker and was a one time, I tried it kind of thing. My bud likes pulled pork but not sauce, it was horribly dry and stringy like it sat on a steam table all day without being based. The coleslaw wasn't very juicy, but the baked beans were good. This was my second shot and well the place is just average. While I see this place won awards, they were probably judged for critically focused just prepared food. The problem is they don't regulate maintaining quality throughout the day after it's cooked. There's a place that smokes limited amounts of meat usually on Thursdays in Pottsville. Their pulled pork has an amazing flavor is succulently moist and melts in your mouth. Unfortunately this place has potential if they would regulate the quality throughout the day.

I love me some good BBQ!!! This place has alot of good food. However, they did have a couple things that I didn't care for so much. First the good, brisket to die for, and off the chain smoked chicken wings!!! Now the things I didn't care for. The brisket chili and the pulled pork. The chili just didn't do anything for me. And the pulled pork sandwich was very "porky" even with a ton of sauce. The pork just didn't have that good smoked flavor I was expecting.

The BBQ is great and some of the best I've had outside of the south. I have eaten in the restaurant and have had them cater lunch and dinner for several meetings. The service is great!

I was looking for a BBQ spot in Pottsville after the yuengling tour. Sadly didn't see anything worth to try in town so we headed back to the hotel. On our way back I saw the pink pigs on front and BINGO! My gf and I both love the ribs and the brisket is also very good.
